Beyond Bouldering Clovelly Park was developed with a $1.4 million budget on the site of the former Ferrari Formalwear building on South Road. Acquired in 2021, the original structure was demolished to make way for a world-class bouldering gym.

I managed the entire project, partnering with CLIMB ICP, Australia’s only climbing wall supplier based in Queensland. Their expertise and equipment were essential to providing a premier climbing experience, with their team working closely to tailor the walls to the facility’s needs.

​

The existing building required significant retrofitting, including reinforcing the steel roof structure and upgrading the concrete flooring to support the climbing walls. We also installed new above-ground plumbing and systems throughout the building, effectively conducting a full renovation and fit-out.

The project required coordination with local authorities, private certifiers, engineers, and safety inspectors. Navigating permits, council works, and compliance was critical, including liaising with safety bodies like SafeWorkSA to meet building codes, environmental standards, and operational regulations.

The completed facility was a modern, safe, and welcoming bouldering space, providing an exceptional experience for climbers of all levels. The successful project highlights attention to detail, strong management, and a commitment to quality in bringing this vision to life.
